after lots of thought, indecision and procrastination i have come up with  JELLY FISH (thanks to akasha's screen saver). a surf  brand , unisex, all ages, but particularly aimed toward teens. 
as current environmental issues are soaring, and the public are more aware than ever before about our impact on the earth, i thought it only right to use the surf label as a promotion for responsible living- especially on the coast. clean seas, climate change, refuse reuse recycle....
personality and concept- delicate and graceful with bite and sting.
colours- greens, blues, grays, highlights of orange and brown.
distribution- shops, internet, markets, sponsorship etc
style- i guess elegant drawings, overlapping, water scenes.....sketched and embroided, lino block print.....
typography will be handwritten giving a personal hand made look relating to surfing as a personal journey.

My surf brand would appeal to women from age 18+ . Aimed at surfers who appreciate how surfing use to be, the TRUE SPIRIT of the sport friendly, chilled and cruisie

Products will include a range of summer and winter clothes, the clothes and swimwear will be designed to cater for different shapes and sizes and not just to skinny models. The material used will need to be made from organic cotton and printed using soy based inks. The wetsuits made from recycled fishing nets and polyester products. Other products will include surf and travel accessories

South Pacific, Tiki and Australian beach culture of the 60’s will be the main influence of my design.

Fun, active, retro, kitsch, practical, flexible, playful, and comfortable would describe the personality and concept of my surf wear.

I ‘m liking Blue Pearl, blue for the colour of the ocean and pearl being the jewel of the sea but I haven’t decided on the colour of the logo yet. I’m tempted to NOT use the obvious aqua, Prussian blue, purple and white and go for something totally different…..so any suggestion is welcome.

Environmental and the conservation and protection of cetaceans and their environment are the issue of concern for me. As surfers it’s our karmic duty to protect the oceans inhabitants. I have always respected the ocean and all that live in it. The ocean and its contents is our greatest resource. This resource needs protection I hope that we're not too late.

My range will be distributed throughout Australia and overseas through retail outlets and online

Sponsorship will be a major part of promoting the label, addition to that, the company will be making a serious of short surf movies featuring sponsored surfers to promote the brand.

my company is going to be a skate company called milk it will cater for teens to older people my main influences were derived from skate brands like element,chocolate,pig,zero,zoo york,soopkichn etc.Before i settled on the name milk i toyed with many names such as cloth head,white trash,ja ja binks,chocolate honey,forbidden fruit,gate way drug,make my day,funk lords,amy the angry albino,mars attacks,uh uh sister,hijak,justus,juice orange,kill krush destroy,may day,kukumber,blink and youll miss it,frosty,just deal with it,like you would know,nuts,horn blower,ginger meggs,tyrannosourus ,ect. but decide to settle on milk because it is short and appealing.The colours will be mainly black and white i will make skate boards and maybe t shirts and accesories  yer so milk is the brand look out for it

My Brand will have as a target the surf industry, aiming the free surf, I don't want to focus on a group of age or a gender, the brand will be attractive to those who love to surf and love all the things that comes with it (sea, exercise, health, life, freedom ...).
Giving emphasis on sunny days, but not specifically summer because all the seasons have positives and negatives, and the sun can be present in all of them always bringing happiness and energy.
All the principals concepts of Yoga will be presents in this brand, the power of concentration, strength and the seek for balance in your life.
The brand (EQUILIBRIUM) will support a project aiming a better conscience about the damages that we've been causing to our planet, trying to teach us how to keep the oceans clean, the earth, ours streets and environment, using phrases like "help the planet", "grow it, but don't destroy it" followed by funny instructions how to do it.
Besides all the fabrics will come from natural fibers and recyclable. 
EQUILIBRIUM will try to invite others cultures and styles using the concept of NO PREJUDGE as an strategy to make them see that no matter how is your style and who do you walk with, if you enjoy the life, if you are pro-life and if you worry about our world than you should wear this brand, and everybody can be together "in the same boat".

Brand name = SOULTRY

Soultry represents women in a sexy but respectful way,focusing on women between the age 20 and over...or anyone with a sense of style.


I feel women have a limited market and most of the products produced are repeatedly grungy graphics that may not appeal to the typical woman. My designs will represent a womens everyday lifestyle and bring those graphics into the snow environment. Producing products and graphics for the Autumn/winter range, designing boards and accessories, e.g. snowboards/vests/jackets/scarves/beanies etc.

Subcultural influences include the fashion/beauty industry e.g. bags, shoes, make-up.I woman can never have enough shoes.....even for the snow! I am also focusing on the heart, its shape and meaning for the logo design, with flowy font.

I decided to spell Sultry.....S O U L T R Y as it portrays a personal inner- beauty feel, being her soul. Autuum trees are beautiful, especially in the snow with its soft browns, yellows and greens which i will be also focussing on in my designs.


The personality and concept i would like to portray in my designs represents a real womens presense and witty sense of humour.
Colour swatches will include reds, blacks, pinks, pastels, browns and creams.


The range would mostly be available in the colder climates e.g jindabyne, nation wide specialty stores and internet orders world wide.

The main source of promotion for my brand will be sponsorship(from fashion industries/womens rights)/write ups, adverts in surf/snow local magazines/exterior/interior poster signage and snowboarding competitions and events.


My designs have a pop art/Paul frank influence with inspiring themes of the fashion industry/candy/characters/patterns/shapes and realistic imagery.

Chloe. Surf Brand

My brand is a Surf brand. it will mostly be aimed at Males between the age group of 13 and 25. it will be all year round but mainly summer. The personality of this brand is a bit humorous, it is influenced by the male ego that some surfers can produce, the kind of surfers that get the attitude and fearless personality. i find it quite amusing so i've decided to make my brand in a humorous approach. The range will be available in most surf shops and warehouses along the North Coast, also my brand will have its own retail stores and can also be available through their website.

I went through a few possible names for my brand such as "Eskylid" "Esky" "Eskhe" "Hurdle" but i have settled on the name "SHARK BISCUIT"

LUKE - skate brand

My brand is going to appeal to people who believe in being themselves in today’s society. I think it’s important to be able to express ourselves without following modern day trends and mainstream music, media and clothing etc. Even though the brand will still be involved with clothing, skateboard designs etc, I still want it to have that feeling of individualism. My brand is going to be a skating brand.

Gender: unisex
Age: teens and young adults
Season: all seasons of the year

I want my brand to be unique and interesting without being too complex. Some inspiring themes and styles I want to include are abstract art, comic art, surreal art, underground scene music and alternative fashion styles. I want my brand to have an art punk kind of theme for clothing and skateboard designs. An easy and recognisable logo I think will pay off for the brand design, something that people can recognise anywhere. I think it’s important to be aware of the environmental issues of the planet, so I think that the brand should include organic alternatives in the clothing. I want it to promote music concerts mainly ones such as soundwave and taste of chaos. Posters and flyers are some examples that could be put in store and online. I want the range of products to be available world wide.

My aim for this company is to promote and encourage a healthy attitude towards surf culture for young girls and the marine environment. Being a mother of two young girls and being constantly bombarded with sexualisation of children i feel there is a gap in the market for a positive brand with real values based on compassionate grounds. 

How did our society become complacent towards the  " SEX SELLS" approach towards the marketing and designing of childrens toys? 

Age Group : 6 to 12
Girls at this age are toying with their independence and are easily influenced with socialisation. Laying good foundations at the infant stages can help but it is at the age of six when girls are most influenced.

Season: All Seasons
 A range of Summer and Winter wet suits and rash shirts will be designed. Collage, Typography, quotes, environment facts arranged in a distinctive style which stands out from any other brands.

 Global Warming, Litter on our beaches, Rare marine life, Surf etiquette, Issues which children at this age can digest easily and can put tips to good use such as litter on beaches and looking out for one another when surfing etc

Introduction 
Well my brand is going to be a surf brand, which targets grommets, and free surfing mainly dealing with short boards. My brand will targeting Male's,  age 14+, but mainly between the age 16-30, but a majority of the boards will be unisex. Since I'm doing surf as my brand i will mainly dealing with summer as my main season, but will have some other season products. Robyn Rand _ initial profile




Wasp
Wasp has a fantastically contrasting colour palette on a black base it will provide versions of red, yellow and blue in its designs, using just a two colour colour scheme. As called for there will also be the use of the red, yellow or blue as the base colour with the black as the decorative. The primary colours will be slightly weathered looking and have more of a fabric look then that of plastic.
I developed this design for the Australian boys and girls who just love skating and primarily live in the city, they are the ones dragging their parents to the skate park at 7:00 am on a Sunday morning just because they know the big guys are still asleep. The whole skating image is appealing to them but generally unavailable. Being young they aren't the shoppers of the family and have a lot of hard work in front of them if they want to convince the parent to buy a brand. This design has to be as appealing to a parent as to a 5 to 12 year old.
The promotion of the product will be primarily through the schools by distributing monthly catalogues to every family with free delivery if ordered through the school.On offer is ordering through telephone, mail, collection of order forms, or internet, the product will also be sold through pre existing shops. Promotion will also consist of skating clinics on weekends, school holidays and through some school sports programmes.
To make the brand more appealing to the parents they also get something back, 5% of the overall profits from each sale will go back into the local schools to purchase reading and special needs resources. Over 25% of school aged boys have difficulties with reading through lack of practice, a lot of the schools have a shortage of books and reading resources that keep boys interested so purchasing this product will help solve this nation wide problem. What parent would say no.
Wasp also promotes outdoors fun and helping each other, how important it is to be fit and healthy, to eat the right foods and get regular exercise. The importance of having a go at things you don't think you can do and making friends outside of the classroom is paramount too.
The other thing Wasp is concerned with is the use of simple safety equipment when doing sports, such as skating. Wasp will be producing a full range of helmets, knee & elbow protectors, hats/caps, water bottles and sun screen. As well as shirts and other clothes, complete decks, stickers and other skating needs. The product line is also useable for kids who ride scooters and BMXs in the park, or just wnat to look cool.

Influences: in my design and ideas include my 10 year old son who has given me most of the names and the idea of skating boys needing to learn to read. Most of them are pictorial, from magazines and websites, the ones with the names that I know are: Washington Street, Creature, Slap, Termite Skateboards, Blind skateboards, Slap magazine, Darkstar, Piet Mondrian kids at the skate park at 7 am on Sundays, Rita and Emily.I am also influenced by the 'skateboarding can make a difference' thing from the 'Real Auctions' where they donate money from auctioning decks toward helping the autism foundation, and the Termite skateboards with their cheap completes and ssafety gear for poorer families.
